HRX 3 Speed Transmission

The Honda HRX offers a rugged, 3-speed transmission as one choice to manage its powerful GCV190 overhead cam (OHC) engine. Ground speed is 1.8, 2.9 and 3.6 mph.

Honda Cruise Control

Honda's exclusive HRX Cruise Control (Hydrostatic) transmission allows infinite speed control for a comfortable level between 0 to 4 mph, while producing an excellent cut.

Honda Versamow™ System

Honda's patented Versamow System™ mulches, bags or discharges clippings with no attachments or tools required. The convenient Clip Director control regulates how much is bagged or mulched.

Clip Director™

Honda's simple Clip Director™ regulates how much is bagged or mulched. Its design maximizes the flow of grass clippings as well as minimizes the clogging of the opening to the bag chute.

MicroCut Twin Blades

Honda's exclusive MicroCut twin blades result in ultra fine clippings for better mulching and increased bag capacity when bagging or leaf shredding.

Xenoy^® Deck

The all-new HRX deck is contructed of advanced and extremely durable Xenoy® material that does not dent, rust, or corrode over time. Developed for Honda, Xenoy® is used in everything from car bumpers to football helmets and is exclusive on Honda Lawnmowers.

The HRX is 28 percent more rigid than its predecessor for enhanced maneuverability and tighter blade/deck tolerances for more efficient cutting. The slightly longer deck length ensures excellent balance even when the bag is full. Xenoy® is a registered trademark of General Electric Corporation.

Electric Start

Honda's Innovative Electric Start The HMA model features electric start with advanced battery technology. The Cyclon Battery is completely rechargable and holds its charge for up to 300 starts!* Honda's battery is designed to last for years and years, compared to other brands which require annual replacement. The charger is included with purchase.

* Customer will need to completely charge battery at the beginning of the season and once at the end of the season for winter storage.

Honda GCV190 overhead cam (OHC) 6.5 HP engine

Powering the HRX is Honda's new GCV190 overhead cam (OHC) engine, which delivers 6.5 horsepower to either a three-speed or Cruise Control (Hydrostatic) transmission.

HRX Wheels

The HRX is equipped with new nine-inch wheels, which provides deeper tread depth for increased traction and a smoother ride. It features 7 mowing heights with a range from 3/4" to 4".

Flywheel Brake

When the mower is started, the blade turns with the engine. When the operator lets go of the mower handle the blade (engine) must stop within 3 seconds. The operator cannot leave the designated "Operator Zone" to restart the mower engine.

Rear Discharge Chute

The HRX contains a convenient European-style rear discharge that improves maneuverability, eliminating the need for separate discharge chute attachments.

Roto-Stop® Blade Brake Clutch

Honda's patented Roto-Stop® system allows the mower engine to run without the blade spinning. Honda was the first with a blade-brake-clutch that met CPSC requirements for safety back in 1978. So, it's no surprise that the blade control on the Honda lawnmowers is strong and simple.
