If you are tilling a lawn area or a garden area that has not been
used in a while, you will need the rear tine roto-tiller. The front tine
/ mid tine tillers do not have the power necessary to properly turn over
the compacted soil. Additionally, you will appreciate that the rear tine
tiller is self propelled and is much easier on the user. The front tine
/ mid tine roto-tillers give the user a bit of a work out as they have to
hold it back to make sure the soil is properly turned.

Used in areas where the soil has recently been turned over and is not
compacted, such as a vegetable gardens or a flower garden.

A front-tine or mid-tine tiller is not strong enough to turn over
grass, lawn or compacted soil. As a rule of thumb, If a shovel
or pitch fork does goes in 3-6" without being forced or stepped on,
a mid tine tiller will be sufficient, otherwise you will need
the power of a rear tine tiller.

Rear Tine Roto-tillers
A rear tine rototiller is needed any time the soil has
not been loosened or turned in the past year or so.

If a shovel or pitch fork does not go in 3-6" without being
forced or stepped on, a mid tine tiller will not be strong
enough and you will need the power of a rear tine tiller.

You may also choose to rent a rear tine tiller to
make your life easier since it does not give the operator
the workout a mid tine tiller does.

Our rear tine tillers are easier to use and more convenient,
with narrower tires and a tine width of 18 inches. This
allows them work effectively in large and small areas.
The Fingertip controls offer variable ground speeds for
the forward and reverse self propel feature, which allow
you to till with incredibly easy operation and better results.
By keeping wheels operating independently of tines, you
can easily match wheel speed to soil conditions.

Our rear tine rototillers are great on lawns, vegetable
gardens, flower gardens, tearing up area for new patios
and walks or any other area you need to turn over
compacted soil.

Due to it's weight, you will need a van, pickup truck or
trailer to transport the rear tine tiller.
